Roewe is a relatively unique brand among domestic automobiles. Although it has acquired technology from Rover, its models heavily utilize General Motors’ technology. Although it is an independent brand, its price is often on par with joint venture brands.

1. Design

Not to mention anything else, the design of the cars is indeed very beautiful. The launch of  i6 a few years ago was eye-catching, and in recent years, R-branded models such as MARVEL-R and ER6 have been stunning. The design director of Roewe Automobile is Shao Jingfeng, which fully proves that countrymen are not bad at designing cars, nor do they have to pay high prices to hire foreign designers, but there is a lack of outstanding design talents like Shao Jingfeng, as well as the excavation and processing of Chinese traditional culture.

2. Power

The power of Roewe models is quite outstanding in the same class. Some Roewe models are equipped with a 1.5T engine, which was jointly developed by SAIC and General Motors. It can output 173 horsepower and 275 Newton meters, driving the Roewe i6 Max to achieve 0-100 km/h acceleration in about 8.5 seconds.

3. Car infotainment system

The Roewe is equipped with the Zebra Intelligent Driving System jointly developed by SAIC and Alibaba. From actual experience, whether it is smoothness, speech recognition rate or operation logic, it is relatively easy to use in domestic car infotainment systems.

4. Rust prevention process

Backed by General Motors and Volkswagen, SAIC has done a relatively good job in rust prevention technology. In the past few years, when domestic brands had frequent rusting problems, Roewe models rarely had large-scale rusting problems.

5. Price

The price of Roewe models is basically between domestic and joint venture brands. If compared in terms of configuration, it is slightly lower than other domestic brands. When Roewe i6 was first launched, the price was 94800 to 143800 yuan, basically on par with joint venture compact cars such as Civic and Lavida.
